The following guidance is meant to assist members of the University community in understanding restrictions on lobbying and campaign activity and requirements for hosting events on campus that involve elected officials or political candidates in either their campaign or official government capacities.

The following provisions are applicable to advertising and marketing materials disseminated to the university community.
Access to Campus for Filming & Photography
This policy applies to News Media; Non-News, Freelance and Commercial Media; Drone Flights; Weddings and Special Events; and Athletics and Sports Events
Weapons, Explosives or Fireworks Policy
In order to maintain a safe and secure learning, working and living environment, WashU prohibits the use, possession, distribution, or storage of weapons, explosives, or fireworks by any person on any University-owned or controlled property and at any University-sponsored activity or event, regardless of location. Any implied possession or threat of use of a weapon will also be considered a violation of this policy.
Private Use of University Research Facilities
Employees conducting business on behalf of Washington University in St. Louis have a responsibility to do so in a manner that is objective and ethical. The goal of all such business dealings must be to benefit the university.
