Course Catalog Bulletins and Handbooks

Bulletins published by each school include specific information on programs of study, course descriptions, instructional facilities, faculty, accreditation and licensure, degree requirements, and course offerings. Each school’s policies regarding transfer of credit, articulation agreements, refunds, withdrawal and return of federal financial aid, academic integrity and other policies important to students can be found in the bulletins published by and available from each school.


Accreditation

WashU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In addition to the university-wide accreditation, each of WashU’s schools is accredited in regular intervals by their school’s professional organization. Professional Licensure and Certification

The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, specifically 34 CFR 668.43 (a) (5) (v) and 34 CFR 668.43 (c)and the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA), specifically SARA Manual Section 5.2, require disclosures by institutions regarding educational requirements for programs leading to professional licensure or certification regardless of modality.

Student Privacy

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects information about students. The law generally gives students the right to:

  • Inspect and review education records
  • Seek the amendment of education records
  • Consent to certain disclosures of education records
  • Obtain a copy of the university’s FERPA policy
  • File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education

Common Data Set

The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson’s and U.S. News & World Report. The combined goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student’s transition into higher education.
